Soccer in Korea

Soccer has been famous in Korea for many many years. The most effect was in during the 2002 Korea and Japan World Cup. During that time Korea had gone up to the stage where they compete for the semi finals, however they lost.
Since then soccer became a more popular sport in Korea. During the past years Korea has hosted games in which they invited teams from EPL (England Premier League). They have hosted a match with Manchester United two times and Reading was invited as well. There are a lot of Korean soccer players who have been selected to play in EPL and other European teams, they have been known around the world and currently exceeding in their games. The first player who was selected was Ji-Sung Park and he is well known over the world. He is a midfielder for Manchester United. Ju-young is a striker in AS Monaco and pro team in France. Chung-yong Lee is also one of the high lighted players who went to Bolton and is exceeding. He was selected in the Best 11 magazine as well in a short period of time after he was transferred to the team. Other players are Sung-yong Ki who went to Celtic and there are other players who are in Middle Eastern league, German league, and Japanese leagues. There is also a Korean pro-soccer league called the K-League. K-league has 15 teams. FC-Seoul, Suwon Blue Wings, Incheon United, Sungnam Ilhwa, Busan I'Park, Daegu FC, Ulsan Hyundai FC, Gyeongnam FC, Pohang Stealers, Gwangju Sangmu FC, Chunnam Dragons, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, Daejeon Citizen, Gangwon FC, Jeju United. The symbol of Korean soccer is the Red Devil.
